Q: What is the difference between Life Coaching
and Therapy?
A: Life Coach does not look into the primal causes of client’s behavior, does not analyze client's
past, and does not attempt to explain client's present challenges in the context of that past. Instead, Life
Coach helps the client see where s/he is at this moment, realize where s/he wants to be and how to get there, and supports
them through the process of accomplishing that by holding them accountable for their decisions, and encouraging
them along the way. Instead of focusing on problems, analyzing and dissecting them, Life Coaching focuses on finding
solutions, creating positive outlooks, and on initiating and maintaining the process of change from "problem" to
"solution."
Q: How long do I need to be coached?
A: This is entirely up to
you. Some people respond to coaching support very quickly, and rapidly gain an ability to deal with issues
on their own. Some people need long-term support. Some successful individuals maintain a degree of connection with their
coach in order to deal with greater challenges as they arise. It is always up to a client to decide what seems right
for them, although a minimum of one month of coaching is recommended in order to allow sufficient time for the seed planted
by initial coaching efforts to germinate, and to allow you to get a feel for the coaching process.
Q: How do I know if
coaching is working?
A: You will know by seeing changes in how you perceive things, in how you feel about life, and in how much you accomplish
- depending on the area of your life for which you need coaching. The best measure of success is a degree
of peace and joy you feel inwardly and sense of accomplishment in the visible realms of activity.
Q: How do I choose the right coach?
A: You have to "shop" around to find a coach that "clicks"
well with you. There are many successful, experienced, qualified coaches out there, but you have to find the one that
is right for you. Most coaches offer a free introductory session during which you have an opportunity to sense if this person
is the right person for you to work with. Also, you may want to get acquainted with them through their web site, and learn
how they think, and what they are all about, what their coaching "philosophy" is, and then make a decision based
on all those facts.
Q: Do coaches deal with issues of depression and other mental problems?
A: Coaches are not health professionals, and
any serious mental problem that needs attention of a mental health professional should be addressed by one. Life Coach will
not attempt to deal with mental health problems, and will duly advise the client to seek the adequate kind of help should
s/he perceive that client is in need of it.
Q: How often do I speak with the coach?
A: Telephone sessions can
be scheduled according to your liking, on the first, second and third, or first second and fourth week of coaching.
The first two sessions establish a connection between coach and client, and the "gap" between the second and the
fourth week allows the "seed" thus planted to germinate. Some clients prefer three consecutive sessions that
allow the coaching momentum to develop. Unlimited email support is available as needed, and that can be immensely useful and
productive. One is well advised to take advantage of this support.
Q: How much do you charge for coaching?
A: The monthly coaching fees
are listed under "Online Offerings." Payments can be made through our secure payment options. The coaching is renewed
on a monthly basis. If the client does not specify that s/he would like to discontinue coaching process, their credit
card will be billed on the same day each month.
The fee is minuscule relative to the benefit derived from effective coaching. Consider it an investment
in your personal development. No price tag can be put on an inner shift that takes place when an insight changes the
perception of things and inspires action. What could have remained an unexpressed potential becomes visible reality. Investing
in that kind of transformation brings about untold benefits.
Q: What if I cannot afford coaching, yet I feel I could
really benefit from it.
A: This may be discussed in the free introductory session with the Coach. Some options of dealing with those situations
are available.
